of the Newropeans movement
– Coverage perspective : 50 million European voters
The
result of Newropeans Networks' transformation into a
political movement when, in May 2005, popular referenda
on the EU Constitution failed, Newropeans is the first
trans-Eurpean political movement engaged in the democratisation
of the European Union. In 2009, Newropeans will stand
for elections to the European Parliament in 2009 in
all EU countries. Newropeans is the most concrete result
to this day of Franck Biancheri's constant efforts since
1985 in favour of the democratisation of Europe.

diplomats
As
the one and only independent European think-tank, LEAP/Europe
2020 (created in 1998) is the main contributor to Europe's
strategic thinking on its future, its democratisation
and the evolution of its relations with the rest of
the world. Franck Biancheri conducts and coordinates
most of LEAP/E2020's research, as well as the Laboratory's
Confidential Letter - the GlobalEurope
Anticipation Bulletin, gone famous since the publication
in February 2006 of its "Global Systemic Crisis

– Distribution : 15,000 European citizens and journalists
Launched
by Franck Biancheri in October 2003, Newropeans Magazine
breaks down information, analyses it and then informs
European citizens as to the daily happenings in Europe
from an European perspective, and not a national one. |

Founding-President
of TIESWEB (Transatlantic Information Exchange System)
– Distribution : 50,000 transatlantic citizens
The
first concrete initiative working towards bringing together
citizens on both sides of the Atlantic, the prototype
for the TIESweb site was presented to both American
and European leaders during the UE-US summit in December
1997 in Washington. The site was publicly launched in
London during the UE-US summit in May 1998 in the presence
of members of the European parliament, Members of the
US Congress, and the children of British Prime Minister
Tony Blair. |

of the NEWROPEANS Networks
– Distribution : 100,000 European citizens and journalists
each day
Launched at the Newropeans Conference 2000, and developed
in 2002-2003 through the Newropeans Democracy Marathon,
the Newropeans Networks gathered individuals and organizations
from the European civil society that share the common
goal of actively participating in the democratization
of Europe. The Newropeans political movement originated
from the Newropeans Networks.
Between 2000 and 2005, the Newropeans
Networks reached some 50,000 Europeans on a regular basis"

Founding-President
of PROMETHEUS EUROPE (1989-1999)
– Distribution : 15,000 European and international
civil-servants, experts and heads of the civil society
Having
left student life behind, Franck Biancheri stepped down
from his role at AEGEE-Europe and founded Prometheus-Europe,
as an association of young European professionals yearning
to increase their participation and to bring about a
greater Transparency, Efficiency and Democracy (TED)
within the European Construction. |

of the trans-European party Initiative for a European
Democracy (IED) – 1989
– 400,000 votes in 1989 Three
years after having created AEGEE, and during the European
elections of 1989, Franck Biancheri and a group of his
European Team decide to launch IED, an experiment without
precedent consisting of presenting a common party and
programme in 3 different countries, all members of the
UE. This “mixing” experiment ended up drawing
400,000 votes in the three different countries. To this
day, the experiment remains a unique endeavour… |

of the first European Student Association AEGEE-Europe
(1985-1989)
– 12,000 members in 1989 Created
in Paris in 1985 by a group of students from Paris’
“Grandes Ecoles,” the Association of the
General State of European Students (AEGEE-Europe), Franck
Biancheri was the President for the first three years
during which there were over 12,000 members in 70 European
cities. |
