A central role in the democratisation of Europe  

 

In June 2005, he created Newropeans, the first trans-European political movement for the democratisation of the European Union, that will stand for elections to the European Parliament in 2009 in all EU countries
In 2004, he launched Newropeans Magazine, the first on-line European magazine written and edited by the generation born after the Treaty of Rome.
In a matter of months, Newropeans magazine has over 15,000 subscribers and readers in Europe (Alexa traffic-rank 900,000
In 2002-2003, he dedicated close to ten months moderating 100 conferences as part of the Newropeans Democracy Marathon.

By way of the Marathon, he debated directly with 10,000 European citizens on the question of Europe's future.

In 2002, he inaugurated "Miami Transatlantic Week" with the goal of recreating Transatlantic Relations in the 2st century on a citizen-to-citizen level.
Taking up such questions as leadership, international education, and peace in the Middle-East among other essential issues…, the Transatlantic Weeks take place every 2 years in Miami in April.

In 2001, he launched EU-STUDENTVOTE the first online election on a European scale.
EUSV has enabled 82,000 students for the first time to elect their representatives to the EU institutions (May 9th - 23th 2002).
The event was recognized by Politics Online as one of five rising stars (the only European site belonging to the group ) of the Internet revolution by the 25,000 experts of Politics Online and Havard's J.F.K School of Governance.

In Paris, in 2000, during the Union's French presidency he met face to face with 2000 European students and government officials.
The Congress "Newropeans 2000 - New Europe, New Challenges, New Generations" (October 5th-6th and 7th) brought together 2.000 European students at the Sorbonne in the presence of Jacques Chirac and Lionel Jospin, as well as other heads of countries, governments, ministries and European Institutions.
In 1989, during the European elections, he created the first trans-European party IED ( Initiative for a European Democracy).

15 years later, this feat has yet to be matched…

In 1987, as part of AEGEE-Europe, he was central to the adoption of ERASMUS.

To help initiate the program, he organized a meeting between his group and the President of France François Mitterrand at the Elysée Palace.
